DEARNE MP John Healey is backing a campaign to clamp down on the cost of pre-payment meters.
Mr Healey is citing figures he’s found from within his own Wentworth and Dearne constituency to fight the case with fellow MP Dawn Butler.
They want the ‘big six’ energy companies and the government to address the costs. Citizens Advice research has shown that customers with the meters pay on average £226 a year more for their energy than those on the cheapest direct debit tariff.
