TWO daredevil teachers are using their free time in the Easter holidays to raise cash for two charities by making sponsored parachute jumps.

Springvale Primary School’s year four teacher Tristan Venus took the decision to make a jump to raise money for Claire Throssell’s charity Heads Together.

Claire is a governor at the school and her sons, Jack and Paul, who died in a fire started by their father at Tennyson Road in Penistone, and had intended to do a parachute jump herself to raise money for the Heads Together fund.

That fell through so Mr Venus stepped in to take the challenge and colleague Lora Wilmott, who teaches year two pupils, will make a jump at the same time to raise money for the Weston Park cancer charity.
