BARNSLEY Football Club have reported impressive figures for season tickets during the first week of sales. Staff at Oakwell have been kept busy during the last 10 days as supporters booked their seats ahead of the 2006-2007 Championship campaign. First week sales were five times higher than at the same period last season and chairman Gordon Shepherd revealed that 30 per cent of those fans who have already splashed the cash are new season ticket holders.
Shepherd added: “We deliberately kept prices at the same as last season and supporters are being given a great offer, a chance to get one of the cheapest season tickets in the Championship.” The Reds have also introduced a brand new juvenile season ticket for youngsters aged under eleven which gives Reds fans the chance to watch football at Oakwell next season for as little as £50. However, all under 11s must be accompanied by an adult.
Prices are as follows: East Stand Upper and West Stand Upper: Adults £335; Senior Citizen concessions: £190; Juvenile U18 £120; Juvenile U11 £60.00 East Stand Barnsley Chronicle Family Area: Adults £325; Senior Citizen concessions: £185; Juvenile U18 £100; Juvenile U11 £50. It is worth noting that under 11 juvenile season ticket prices and matchday admission prices for under 11s are subject to the child being accompanied by an adult.
