BARNSLEY Hospice has teamed up with Parkinson’s UK to offer specialist counselling to patients and families affected by the disease.
The hospice is providing the sessions, been funded by the charity, which can be accessed at any stage of the illness to provide the opportunity to talk through concerns and gain more understanding of their thoughts and feelings.
Julie Ferry, Barnsley Hospice chief executive and patient services director, said patients can gain from the specialist knowledge and skills of the counsellors at the hospice who are experienced in providing counselling to patients and family members affected by life-limiting illnesses.
