POLICE are still investigating a fatal road crash in Hoyland Common more than a year after the collision which claimed the life of an elderly taxi passenger.
The crash involved only one vehicle, which apparently went out of control as it travelled on Sheffield Road, near the Cross Keys pub, and ended up colliding with a wall.
It had been carrying three passengers home from a bingo session at Hoyland Common working men’s club and one of those, Mrs Ruth Cocker, 85, of Rockingham Close, Birdwell, was critically hurt.
She was taken to hospital and died later.
