IT was never going to be easy but Martyn Wright managed to climb 42 peaks equal to the height of Mount Everest in memory of his father.

The 40-year-old was inspired to take on the incredible Lake District challenge in tribute to his dad Ron Wright, who was a stalwart of West Green Football Club.

Ron, of Rotherham Road, Smithies, died aged 58 from a brain tumour in 2005 which was diagnosed following a seizure just months earlier.

Martyn took on the challenge with friends Steven Jackson, Anthony Ryder and David Hague to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.

The three day feat took in some of the Lake District’s highest mountains.
