MORE than 670 concerns of abuse against vulnerable adults were reported to the council over the course of a year.

The figure is revealed in the 2015/16 annual report of the Safeguarding Adults Board, which is tasked with keeping vulnerable adults safe.

Statistical data including age range, gender and location of concerns, as well as types of abuse experienced, is explained in the report. It shows the proportion of safeguarding concerns received by the council between last April and March this year received is heavily skewed towards the over-65s.
