A SHAFTON school has defended itself after complaints were made about its uniform policy.
Outwood Academy has been accused of having a zero tolerance approach by one new-starter’s mum, who did not wish to be named, who told the Chronicle that parents must buy uniforms from a specific supplier.
Principal Cara Ackroyd confirmed the school has one supplier - Trutex - but told the Chronicle that every new student is given a free-of-charge PE kit at the start of term to soften the financial blow for parents.
