A YOUNG swimmer’s Yorkshire County Championships ended with success after he bagged seven gold medals and a clutch of personal bests.
Eleven-year-old Ben Cross, of Summer Lane, Royston, also returned from the John Charles Centre of Sport in Leeds with eight personal best times in races such as the 50m backstroke and 100m individual medley.
The youngster will now head to Sunderland this weekend to race against hundreds of the best swimmers in the country.
