A SON is having to grieve for his mother all over again 11 years after her death when her final remains were mistakenly thrown in a skip by bungling housing association staff.
Alexander Fox says he has been left devastated by the loss of his mother’s ashes which were removed from his garden in an apparent mix up about if or when he and civil partner Thomas were moving out of their home in Worsbrough Common.
The couple had wanted to move after suffering homophobic abuse, but had yet to make the arrangements and the clear out seems to be the result of a ‘clerical error’.
Alexander had buried her ashes in a ceramic pot along with her wedding ring, engagement ring and some of her other favourite jewellery, and planted a rose bush on top of her.
“Devastated is just not the word,” said Alexander, 48, of Thornhill Drive. “I am absolutely heartbroken, and so angry.”
