A FLOOD drop-in session has been slammed as a waste of time by Darton residents who claim agencies aren't doing enough to protect the village.
A number of people displaced by the floods feel it was a waste of time attending because they weren't given any real answers about how Darton will be protected from future floods.
Neil Booth, of Mill Lane, Darton, says those involved are fobbing residents off when it comes to protecting the village.
He added: “The Environment Agency don’t seem interested that it only takes the slightest bit of heavy rain and we’re at risk of flooding again. There has been no mention today of any real solutions, like dredging the river or building a defence wall on the bank. It’s frustrating that we’re coming away not knowing anything more than we did before.”
Dawn Swithenbank, also of Mill Lane, Darton, shares Neil's concerns about what measures will be put in place to minimise risk of future flooding.
She said: “We really need some kind of system like a defence wall that will protect properties and businesses next time something like this happens.”
