MORE than 21,000 people in Barnsley have stopped smoking in the ten years since the smoking ban was introduced.
Figures from the department of health show that between April 2007 and December 2016, as many as 21,261 people received help to quit through Yorkshire Smokefree.
The service is part of South West Yorkshire NHS Foundation Trust and operates across South and West Yorkshire.
To mark the tenth anniversary of the smoking ban, a stall was launched in Barnsley market offering people the help they need to quit.
