COUNCIL tax in Barnsley will have to go up again next year but it is not yet known by how much, the leader of the council has warned.
Coun Sir Steve Houghton said the council still faced huge uncertainty around its financial future after years of austerity and unprecedented budget cuts.
He said the process of setting a budget for the next financial year beginning next April would begin in September.
“There’s still a lot of uncertainty and there will be more cuts coming, there’s no getting away from that,” Sir Steve told the Chronicle yesterday.
