A HEALTHCARE assistant with a kind, caring manner who goes above and beyond to help others has been nominated for a proud of Barnsley award.
Lynn Clay gets many compliments from the the women she supports, the staff she works with and the women and families she cares for.
Her nomination said she was always willing to take on new responsibilities and really makes a change and a difference to the service and families.
An example of this is her willingness to be involved in new initiatives and practically support staff and women and new ideas. A recent research project is looking at recruiting women to give their view on a healthy living leaflet for pregnancy. The follow up telephone call was proving difficult for the researcher to engage the women.
Straight away Lynn had thought of an alternative and now the research is running smoother and more effectively and will make a real difference to women setting small achievable goals in pregnancy.
Without Lynn this would have been very time consuming and unworkable.
The nomination states: "I know she is a fantastic support to the community staff who wouldn't know what to do without her. She is organised, efficient and knowledgeable. "She always has a smile on her face and is a great asset to the maternity unit, and the women who use the service."
Lynn said: “I feel honoured to be nominated for a Proud of Barnsley award. I just come to work and do my job and sometimes it’s easy to forget the difference you make to other people’s lives, this nomination is a nice reminder of that.”
