CONTROVERSIAL plans to build 164 homes in Royston are set to be approved next week.
The Chronicle can reveal that Barratt Homes’ Lee Lane bid has been recommended to be given the go-ahead by councillors on the planning board, which meets on Tuesday.
But local people have voiced concerns about the plan, amid fears about speeding on Lee Lane and access on to it.
It is a 60mph stretch on the outskirts of the village, and 27 letters of objection have been received to the plans for 81 four-bedroom, 67 three-bedroom and 16 affordable homes.
