A YOUNG mum's two daughters swung into action after she knocked herself out when she fell downstairs.

As Claire Phillipson was out for the count, her daughters Amelia, ten, and Gracie, eight, rang 999 after being unable to reach their dad on his mobile phone.

The pair checked she was breathing by putting their ears to her mouth, placed her in the recovery position and even tilted Claire's head back to make sure her breathing was unobstructed.

Claire, 32, of Mawfield Road, Wilthorpe, said she was so proud of the way the girls coped.

"I am extremely proud of how calm they were and how well they handled the situation.
