A TRAIN enthusiast, who learned to drive a steam train as part of his research for a new book about the history of the Penistone Line, is doing a book signing next week.
Author Peter Thomas will also be giving a short introductory talk about Along the Penistone Line on Saturday October 27 in the library at the Priory Campus, Lundwood, from 10am to 11.30am.
Peter, a member of the Penistone Line Partnership said: “Apart from being a history of the line between Huddersfield and Sheffield, the book explores the towns, countryside, pubs, churches, museums and tourist attractions.”
The author has also written two other popular books, Yorkshire’s Historic Pubs and Lancashire’s Historic Pubs.
