THE A616 has reopened after a crash in which a driver suffered serious injuries.
The road was closed both ways between the A61 and the M1 at J35A and the air ambulance attended.
A police spokesman said: "At around 10am this morning, emergency services responded to reports of a collision between a white Audi Q2 and blue BMW on Tankersley roundabout off the A616, Barnsley.
"The driver of the Audi is thought to have suffered serious injuries in the collision and has been taken to hospital for treatment.
"The road was closed in both directions between Tankersley roundabout and junction 35A and the M1 but has since reopened."
