AN EX-PUPIL has sparked outrage at Kingstone after publishing a controversial image which claims to represent the school on a popular website.

The picture, which is visible to millions of users on social networking website Facebook, shows Martin Luther King in a red circle with a line through it.

The photograph was uploaded by ex-pupil Ben Linstead, along with the caption: “This is the new Kingstone logo. I preferred the shield to be honest.”

Comments accompanying the picture appear to suggest that the image was created by another ex-pupil. Both lads left the school in 2003.

Headteacher Matthew Milburn has now demanded that Facebook removes the image from the site.

Mr Milburn said: “We were made aware of the racist content and have complained in the strongest possible terms to the operator of Facebook to demand the image be removed immediately.

“It is of great concern to learn that irresponsible individuals are able to use Facebook to create a site that falsely claims to represent the school.”
