SINGER Jobabe's bid for pop stardom continues with the release of the video for her World Cup single.
The film for the song 'Its Out for the Lads' by her band Branded was recorded last week and is now available to download from the internet.
Jobabe - real name Joanne Pitt - decided to bring the cameras to Barnsley after the atmosphere at the original shoot in London fell a bit flat.
After much head scratching the 22-year-old Pogmoor lass decided on the perfect venue - her local pub.
Joanne, of Intake Lane, drafted in drinkers at The Traveller's Rest to act as extras in the video.
And despite their lack of acting experience Joanne says her mates provided the desired effect.
She said: "We recorded a video in London with some professional dancers and actors but it wasn't what we were looking for. The atmosphere was rubbish so we decided to move it to Barnsley. I rang round a few mates and we packed the pub out, it went really well and we all had a right laugh."
Now she hopes World Cup fever will help launch her singing career. Bookmakers think she might have a chance of pop stardom - they have 'Its Out' as a 33-1 shot to top the charts.
