Car thieves set an unwitting record when they pinched a Mercedes SLR McLaren.

Unfortunately for them, the record was for the most expensive car ever recovered using a Tracker tracing device.

The McMerc was swiped when the thieves stole the keys, but the car was recovered 12 miles away and in less than an hour from being reported stolen.
