A TALENTED motocross driver is getting geared up for the British Championships after he was crowned Yorkshire's number one this season.

Nikki Ellis, 18, of Springfield Road, Hoyland Common was 253 points clear when he took the title in November.

The former Kirk Balk pupil started riding when he was four -years old and began racing in 2001. He said: “I like the adrenaline you get from racing and it gives you a right good buzz.

“My dad was interested in bikes and that's what started me off. I started a bit late really. I think I was about 12 and I wish I’d started younger.”
