ACTRESS Claire King has had her fair share of controversial storylines over the years. But her new role will bring her more boos and jeers than she's ever had.

She's preparing to play the Wicked Witch in pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, at Barnsley Metrodome.

Claire, who played soap vamp Kim Tate in Emmerdale and prison officer Karen Betts in Bad Girls, says she is going to have fun with her new character. She said: "I think it can be quite camp, can't it?"

Rehearsals start on Monday for the show which premieres on Sunday, December 16. But her biggest fear is not learning the lines: it is what her Wicked Witch costume will be like. So far executive producer, Lee Batty, is keeping it close to his chest.

Claire said: "I haven't seen it yet so I've no idea what it looks like.

"I have read the script and it's very well written and has good in-jokes. I've never done panto before and there will be kids shouting and screeching most of the way through. It will be great fun."
