A PUB landlady who has been pulling pints for 40 years celebrates her 70th birthday tomorrow - and she has no intention of calling time just yet.
Beryl Hodgson has been in charge at the Keel Inn at Stairfoot since she and her husband Harold took over in June 1968.
The pub belonged to the Barnsley Brewery back then, which later became John Smiths, and most of the customers were miners.
A pint of bitter would have set you back 1s 4d (about nine pence today) and people would sit at the bar playing cards and dominoes while enjoying a cigarette and listening to 60s music on the jukebox.
Harold died in 1982 and 23 years ago Beryl bought the pub which she then ran with partner Derek Beaumont who died in October last year.
Beryl said: "This is my home and I just love it in here. Customers are so good to me and over the years I have made many friends. I didn't want to go because I have always loved the job. It is hard work but I have always loved it.
"Over the years I have had families and generations coming in. First it would be the mum and dad, then the sons and daughters and then their kids."
