PLANS for a green waste recycling site in Hood Green have been resubmitted to the council sparking fresh fears about the effect it will have on their villages.

Land at Danforth Farm, Bagger Wood Hill, will receive 'green bin' waste from houses in the western part of the borough if the council approve the revised plans.

The former colliery site will receive 4,500 tonnes of waste, such as grass cuttings and cardboard, per year.

Residents are worried about the adverse effect it will have on the countryside and the number of lorries passing through the villages every day.

Last night residents in the villages of Hood Green and Stainborough held a crisis meeting to discuss the impact on their homes, some of which are less than half a mile away.
