BARBARIAN Explorer Scouts have enjoyed a conservation weekend in the Peak District.

The Barugh Green based group teamed up with Peak District rangers to take part in a range of conservation activities.

Members widened and improved paths and cleared Hawthorne and scrub from rare grassland to encourage the regeneration of wild flowers and fauna.

It wasn't all a weekend of work though as they took part in a quad trek across the Peak District and had a go at indoor skiing and go-karting at an adventure centre.

In April the group will keep themselves busy by taking part in a cross-channel scavenger hunt to France, an outdoor laser-wide game and will be accompanying other local scouts on a residential weekend.
