A FORMER Proud of Barnsley winning company has been nominated in a Yorkshire-wide award that celebrates business achievement across the county.
Wool Couture, on Southmoor Road, Brierley, along with its co-founder Claire Gelder, has been nominated in three of the 13 categories in the Yorkshire Choice Business Awards 2019 which recognises inspirational local people and independent businesses.
The company was nominated for New Starter Business of the Year and Claire was nominated for Business Woman of the Year and Inspirational Individual of the Year.
In its first few months Wool Couture made £30,000 and two years later announced a turnover of £680,000. The company was also backed by Dragon’s Den’s Touker Suleyman and Tej Lalvani.
“It’s a privilege and honour for Wool Couture to be recognised by the Yorkshire Choice Awards this year,” said Claire.
