THE determination of a young Coronation Street fan not to miss her favourite soap helped save her life when a car crashed into her bedroom.
Rosie Faver, 11, was with her mum and brother sitting in a back room at their Birdwell bungalow watching the ITV programme when the Fiat Punto smashed into her bedroom at about 8.30pm last Friday.
It sent glass and rubble flying through the air, and her dad Kevin told the Chronicle it was pure chance she had not been sitting on the floor of her room playing, as she usually was at that time.
He said the World Cup football had caused Coronation Street to be shown at a later time - and the rest of his family never miss it.
To add to the irony their home is on Coronation Drive.
Kevin said: “My first reaction was just utter disbelief. If it happened on a main road I might be less surprised, but living on a small, quiet bungalow estate it is the last thing you expect.”
