A GROUP of McDonald’s workers have volunteered to give their local area a spring clean.
The 26 volunteers, from the Upper New Street restaurant, came together with Goldthorpe Primary School, Twiggs and Veolia to litter pick in the town centre, collecting a total of 25 bags of rubbish.
McDonald’s assistant manager David Kelly, who organised the litter pick, said: “McDonald’s has been collecting litter in our communities for over 35 years, and I’m proud of our litter fighting heritage. It’s more important than ever that we continue in the fight against litter and I would like to thank everyone from the restaurant, Goldthorpe Primary School, Twiggs and Veolia who their time to clean up out local community.”
McDonald’s will be carrying out community litter pick events throughout the summer as part of its Keep Up the Clean Up campaign.
