STAGECOACH has started a phased closure of its Upper Sheffield Road depot.
Management and administration staff will move to a new head office near the Interchange from June 6 and the buses transferred to Stagecoach's Wakefield Road premises.
When Stagecoach took over from Yorkshire Traction in 2005, a sale had already been agreed for the land - it will be redeveloped - but Stagecoach was given leave to remain there until an alternative site was found.
