BURTON Road Primary marked Bastile Day this week by dressing with a French theme and taking part in French activities.
The whole school learns French now. Headteacher Matthew Harris says foreign languages are not yet a compulsory subject for primary schools, but he thinks they should be so he has decided to make it compulsory at Burton Road.
He said: "I think the kids really enjoy it. And it's a really valuable skill."
