A POPULAR children's playground has been taken down because of health and safety concerns.
The playground between Spring Street and Princess Street was one of the few areas near the town centre to boast any play equipment.
But the swings and slide were removed on Tuesday, sparking anger from residents. Robert Warburton, of Park Grove, said it was wrong to deprive children of decent play equipment.
