A GROUP of residents campaigning to save green space in Wath is stepping up its battle with Rotherham Council.
Manvers Green residents group has applied to have land at Cadman Street, earmarked for housing development by Gladedale, designated as a Village Green.
But the council through solicitors Birmingham based Bevan Britton and Gladedale is opposing the residents' application.
Now the Manvers Green residents' group is preparing a formal response to the objections and has until the end of the month before Tim Mumford, head of legal services at the council, decides whether there is a case for a public inquiry.
