CONSTRUCTION of a £450,000 Salvation Army citadel has raised fears parking chaos will ensue in Hoyland.
It will be built on the car park next to the Co-op on Central Street which was one of the only places in the town for drivers to leave their cars while they shopped.
Hoyland Common community centre trustee Robin Franklin has objected to the location of the building because he says it will deprive the area of a well-used car park. He said: "It's not the building - it's where it is. They deserve the building but it's in the wrong place because it removes an essential amenity."
