AN ALCOHOLIC accused of battering his partner to death took photographs of her injuries on his mobile phone the day she died, a jury was told.
Christopher Gwyn Thomas, 42, of Day Street, denies causing the bruising to the face and body of Karen Hill, claiming the pictures were to show her the harm she accidentally did to herself when drunk.
But prosecutors said that between Friday, May 23, and Saturday, May 24, Thomas beat Mrs Hill, 50, so severely her abdomen burst, causing her to die from internal bleeding.
The trial continues at Sheffield Crown Court.
