A 14-YEAR-OLD actress has won an award from the London College of Music at its annual prize giving.
Madeleine Cooksey, of Silkstone Common, won the trophy for Most Outstanding Performer after receiving the highest marks in the region for her diploma in musical theatre.
She received her trophy at the college's award ceremony at Ponds Forge, Sheffield, last week.
Penistone Grammar pupil Madeleine said: "I wanted to do the diploma after reaching grade eight, which is the highest grade. It was a surprise to win, I didn't know I'd done that well.
"My next step is to go to a performing arts college and then perform on a big stage and one day have my own company."
Madeleine began acting and singing at the age of two and is a member of Razzmatazz Youth Theatre Company.
