THREE Barnsley church schools could be replaced by one super faith school for children aged three to 16, the Chronicle can reveal.
The council wants to merge St Michael's high school, St Dominic's Catholic primary and Holy Cross Church of England School, all at Athersley.
Parent Ellen Brown, 27, said St Dominic's was a good school: "It's ridiculous. They're too young and too small to be mixing with 16-year-olds.
A council spokesman said at this stage the council had only given permission to begin consultation - no decisions have yet been made.
