THIS couple had the best possible start to 2009 when baby Jack Kennington was delivered on New Year's Day.
Mum Beckie Moorhouse, 24, had been celebrating New Year's Eve at her sister's house in Grimethorpe but decided to come home early with partner Daniel Kennington, 32.
She said: "It's lucky we did really as I needed that bit of sleep. I went into labour at 4am and had him at 6.39pm on New Years Day.
"He was due on December 22 so I was expecting him any day but it was still quite a surprise for us that he came when he did."
Jack was one of seven babies born at Barnsley hospital on January 1.
The 9lb 2oz newcomer is now settled in the family home on Barnsley Road, Dodworth.
