PRETTY in pink, these two stunners from Barugh FC will join their team mates in a new away kit to take part in a midnight walk for charity.

The whole under-14s girls' football team will join hundreds of other local women on a 13 mile midnight walk on June 13 to raise cash for Barnsley Hospice.

The under-14s manager Martin Beaumont has been working with the team for three years and is proud of them all.

He added: "Last year the girls decided they would like to raise some money for Barnsley Hospice as a girl's granddad had passed away and he had spent his last few days under the care of the hospice. "The whole family agreed that the care and support received by all the staff at such a difficult time was superb."

So last year the squad, along with their parents, did the walk raising £1,800 but Martin says it was just the start of what they hope will be a long partnership between the club and the hospice.

He added: "Last year's midnight walk highlighted what a wonderful team of girls they are, doing that little bit extra by walking 13 miles through the night to help raise money.

"The theme of the walk is wearing pink, so the girls decided it would be nice to have a pink kit to play in and we decided to ask Sue Miller at the hospice if we could put their logo on our shirts.

"Hence our new pink strip, which officially is our away kit but the girls look superb and are honoured to wear it."
