PLANS for a skateboarding park at Darton Park are gathering momentum after a meeting this week.
Youngsters were given advice on Tuesday by a council officer on how to apply for funding from the Community Green Space Fund.
Coun Linda Burgess was present and said the group hope to submit an application in January.
“It’s a very complicated bid. They have to get a very clear brief of what they want.
“It will involve them looking at other skateboard parks so they are clear about the design and structure.”
The group will also need to obtain three quotes for the proposed development. Members of the bowling club were also at the meeting and hope to put an application in this month for improved fencing around the green.
It was also decided to apply for funding for seats in the park through the area forum.
