MICHAEL Foy has fond memories of the days he played for Littleworth Junior school team.
The lads had an abundance of talent and they were so successful they won the Barnsley Schoolboys' Association Football Junior Challenge Cup Final and the Barnsley and District Junior Schools' League in the same season.
Their special year was 1955-56 when in the Challenge Cup Final they beat Athersley 2-0 at Oakwell. A member of the Athersley team was Eric Winstanley who went on to play for Barnsley.

Mr Foy later played for Longcar Central School with Eric Winstanley. He also played for Barnsley Boys and Yorkshire Boys.
"They were great days and I really enjoyed playing with the other lads, " said Mr Foy.
