SOMEBODY, somewhere is missing a number of precious family photographs.

A Monk Bretton reader received them in the post several years ago, but they don’t belong to him and he hasn’t been able to track down the owners. But, he is hoping with the help of the Chronicle, someone will claim them.

The photos show many family members including: Aunt Jane (above) and Uncle Joe, who apparently lived in the USA, great-grandma Jackson and Uncle Arthur, and a group of four children, three girls and a boy, named as: Walt, Daf, Marlene and Beryle. This particular photograph has a message on the back which reads: “With love from Blanche.”

There are also many others as well as snapshots. They include a photograph of a young man named Ron another of Aunt Blanche and Uncle Walter, as well as Uncle Bill in army uniform who was, apparently, on leave at the time.

There is also a photograph of a wedding group showing the bride, groom and four bridesmaids with other members of the family. The name Ron appears on several occasions.

There also seems to be a connection with Monk Bretton as an address on the back of one of the photographs reads: 10, Days Croft, Monk Bretton.

The only other clue we have as to the identity of these people is that there is a note inside the bundle of photographs which says: ‘The Jackson/Holler family.’

The other pictures can be seen in this week's Barnsley Chronicle, page 18. If anyone can shed any light on the ownership , please contact Kath Parkin, Barnsley Chronicle, 47, Church Street, Barnsley. S70 2AS.
