A MOTORCYCLIST had a lucky escape when his bike ended up on the roof of a Renault Scenic.

The 58-year-old suffered minor injuries when his bike collided with the car which was turning into Doveside Drive from Snapehill Road, Darfield.

The 75-year-old driver of the car was not injured.

Resident Gordon Warrington, said he arrived a few seconds after the accident on Saturday afternoon.

He said: “It was very odd seeing a motorbike on the top of a car, it was like they were double parked.

“The car windscreen was smashed so I assumed the motorbike had hit the car and travelled up the windscreen onto the roof.

“The fire brigade came out to get the bike off the roof and the driver was walking around before the ambulance came.”

The motorcyclist was taken to Barnsley Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
