SOME bin collections have been cancelled due to snow. Crews in Penistone were taken off their regular collections on Tuesday to help with snow clearing efforts instead. Some of them were clearing snow from footpaths in front of Barnsley Hospital.
A spokesman said residents who missed their grey bin collection should put it out for collection next Tuesday instead of the green bin. Those residents whose green, blue or brown bins are missed should put them out on their next scheduled collection day which is in two weeks time. Blue and brown bins due next Tuesday should be presented for collection as usual.
Household Waste Recycling Centres at Penistone and Goldthorpe were closed all day. The one on West Street, Worsbrough, opened an hour late.
