Brett Sinton, of Priory Road, Lundwood, cradled baby Alisha in his Barnsley Hospital bed after waking from a coma.
The 19-year-old suffered severe head injuries when he was knocked over by a car as he crossed Pontefract Road, Lundwood, on November 18.

"We were really happy to see him holding Alisha because he'd only held her once before he was run over," said girlfriend, Samantha Wesley, 17.
