A soldier has been selected as Labour's candidate in the by-election to replace Eric Illsley.
Dan Jarvis was selected by local Labour party members in a meeting at Oakwell on Thursday night. The 38-year-old was chosen from a shortlist of four drawn up by national party bosses.
