A girl who doctors thought would struggle to walk and talk is celebrating after becoming a gymnastics champion.
Bethany Dickinson won the rising to the challenge category at the South Yorkshire Sports Awards and has been crowned champion in West Yorkshire where she trains.
The 13-year-old suffered a bleed on the brain shortly after she was born 13 weeks early weighing 2lbs.
But she defied doctors by becoming a budding gymnast and is on Kingstone school's gifted and talented programme. Full story in the Chronicle.
