An ale fan who was one of the first to lose his job because of government cuts has turned to drink - he's set up a brewery.
James Taylor has invested his redundancy money to set up Two Roses brewery at the Darton business park.
He was formerly employed by the Audit Commission, which has had its budget cut. He said: "I have been brewing at home on an amateur basis for a number of years and have always had an inkling at the back of my mind that I'd start brewing.
"For the first time in my life, the Audit Commission has given me a lump of money. It was either stick it in the bank or invest it in mine and my family's future."
James, 54, of Staincross Common, is starting with three stock beers as well as a special Roy-Ale Wedding brew to mark the marriage of Prince William and Kate Middleton on April 29.
