A DOG-LOVER is furious after her family pet was savaged by another dog in kennels while she was on holiday.

Toby, a nine-year-old pedigree Schnauzer, needed 26 stitches after he was mauled at Noah’s Ark Kennels in Shafton.

Toby’s owners, Karen and Sean Hager, who live near Huddersfield Road, were on a two-week holiday in the USA at the time.

Karen, 41, said her three children, aged 16, 13 and eight, were devastated when they saw Toby’s injuries.

She said: “I blame the kennels.

“It looks like it’s a big dog that’s attacked him and that dog isn’t fit to be going in kennels.”

Kennel owner Mrs Sidebottom-Tinkler confirmed the attack happened when a handler had been walking Toby.
