A man who attempted to rape a 50-year-old woman in Elsecar is to be sentenced at Sheffield Crown Court today.
David Brian Thompson, of Ash Grove, Rawmarsh, is due to be sentenced by His Hon Judge Michael Murphy QC at noon.
The 48-year-old was convicted of attempted rape, assault by penetration and sexual assault on April 5.
The attack, on a dog walker, took place on the Trans Pennine Trail near Elsecar Reservoir in June last year. The BBC's Crimewatch programme broadcast an appeal in October.
